MSI has just revealed the specs of its new GT660 gaming laptop. The 16-inch HD notebook is the first to include MSI’s Turbo Drive Engine, which is said to double CPU, RAM and graphics performance with the press of a button, though no further details are given. The same goes for the Dynaudio-developed sound system, which is made up of two reportedly theater-grade speakers and a subwoofer.
The GT660 is powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU and gets a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M graphics chipset. Uniquely, there are three DDR3 RAM slots, allowing for up to 12GB of RAM. A 500GB hard drive is standard, and a second one of the same size is optional. There are two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI output on the notebook, which weighs 7.7lbs and includes a larger than usual 9-cell battery.
